What you need to know when using our scanning services.

Welcome to ScanHub. These Terms of Service explain how our self-serve 3D scanning system works, what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you. By purchasing a scan pack, using a ScanHub kiosk, or accessing our website, you agree to these terms.

If you do not agree, please do not use the ScanHub service.

1. Service Overview

ScanHub is a self-serve 3D scanning system operated by OptimumARC Inc.

Users can purchase scan packs online, receive a personal PIN code, and use that code to access the ScanHub system at approved partner locations.

ScanHub generates digital 3D files (STL and OBJ) for download and personal use.

2. Eligibility

To use ScanHub, you must:

Be at least 16 years old, or have permission from a legal guardian.

Follow all posted safety instructions and staff guidance.

Use the ScanHub system responsibly and as intended.

ScanHub may deny access to anyone who violates these terms.

3. Purchases & Payments

After your purchase is fulfilled, you will receive a personal PIN code by email.

You agree that:

Your PIN code may only be used by you.

PIN codes may not be shared, transferred, or resold.

Any use of your PIN by another party is your responsibility.

A PIN cannot be replaced once it has been used.

ScanHub reserves the right to disable PIN codes suspected of unauthorized use.

5. Using the ScanHub System

When using a ScanHub kiosk, you agree to:

Follow all on-screen prompts and instructions.

Place objects safely and securely on the turntable.

Avoid scanning prohibited items (see Section 6).

Treat the equipment respectfully and avoid misuse.

Most scans take roughly five minutes.

Files are delivered automatically by email or via QR code at the end of the session.

6. Prohibited Items

For safety and system integrity, the following items may not be scanned:

  • Living beings

  • Food, liquids, or hot items

  • Sharp, hazardous, or unstable objects

  • Highly reflective, transparent, or glossy materials unless they can be sprayed with scanning spray

  • Oversized objects that exceed ScanHub volume limits

ScanHub or location staff may refuse to scan any object that appears unsafe or unsuitable.

7. File Delivery & Data Security

ScanHub delivers digital files (STL and OBJ) as part of your purchase.

You agree and understand that:

  • Files are encrypted for your security

  • You need your PIN code to open the files

  • ScanHub does not store or retain decrypted versions of your data

  • We are not responsible for lost files due to incorrect email addresses

8. Scan Quality

ScanHub provides high-resolution 3D scans, but some objects may not scan perfectly.

Scan quality may be affected by:

  • Object material, reflectivity, or geometry

  • User placement or movement during scanning

  • Environmental factors at partner locations

ScanHub does not guarantee a specific level of detail or suitability for your intended use.

9. Appointments at Partner Locations

All locations require scheduling.

By booking an appointment, you agree to:

  • Arrive on time for your session

  • Follow any rules set by the host location

  • Understand that missed appointments may require rebooking

  • Partner locations operate independently and may have their own policies

10. No Legal or Engineering Advice

ScanHub provides digital files only.

We do not provide engineering certification, structural validation, or manufacturing guarantees.

You are responsible for ensuring your scanned files meet your needs.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • ScanHub is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

  • We are not responsible for user errors, unsuitable objects, or missed appointments

  • Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the scan pack

Use ScanHub at your own risk.

12. Equipment Misuse & Damage

You are responsible for using the equipment safely.

Intentional misuse, abuse, or damage to the kiosk may result in repair charges or denial of future service.

13. Privacy

Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

By using ScanHub, you consent to the collection and use of data necessary to deliver your scan files.

14. Changes to These Terms

ScanHub may update these Terms of Service at any time.

Continued use of the service means you accept the revised terms.
